Daily Prompt: You’ve Got the Power — The Gravity of the Situation

Daily Prompt: You’ve Got the Power.

It’s up to me, and I say let’s do away with the law of gravity!  All gravity ever does for us is bog us down.  We use legs to move because we have to, but have you ever thought about

how inefficient a means of locomotion walking is?  One leg ahead of the other, trouncing along.  We could be moving in our own personal vehicle, running on magnetic rails (ala, the movie Minority Report), if there were no gravity to hold us back.  Who knows?  Without gravity, teleportation might be possible.  And think of the time savings there!  It boggles the mind.

Gravity is the enemy of the aging and the obese.  Imagine if the elderly did not have to think about sagging body parts.  Overweight people, who have extra issues negotiating locomotion could move effortlessly along.  This change would bring such joy to an increasingly large population.

There would have to be a few changes, if gravity was abolished.  It would make no sense to quantify amounts by weight.  Only volume would matter.  And without gravity, we would float around aimlessly (if we were not in our aforementioned personal vehicles).  We would have to have a means of tethering ourselves where we want to be.  Perhaps we could have a network of iron rods to which would could adhere when we activate our personal magnets.  Want the family to sit around the table for a meal?  Each person has an iron rod around the table where each could direct his/her magnets.  Not sure what we would do about the floating food, but heck, the space program has worked all that out!

Yes, I say, eliminate gravity!  Would you like to weigh in? 🙂
